Recently I’ve been thinking hard on what I should post as my final entry of 2019, some might even say my final entry of the decade. I thought of posting a resolution, or maybe a thesis of my passion for anime, but neither really turned out well in the draft stage. I wanted to leave an impact, or to perhaps make my final post of 2019 a memorable one, but I couldn’t write the way I wanted to.
But then I woke up to this tweet, and I immediately knew that this was going to be what I’ll do for my final post in 2019. My favourite anime for each year of the decade. A simple yet appropriate way to end off the year, and the decade.
Alright, here it is, my final post of the decade!

There you have it! My personal favourites from each year of the decade! While these shows may not necessarily be the highest rated or the most popular, for whatever reason, these 10 anime have been the most enjoyable for me to watch.
But I’m not done with lists just yet. I thought it’d be cool if I listed a few more “statistics” based on my earlier listing.
My Preferred Studio Of The Decade
1st Place: A-1 Pictures (3/10)
2nd Place: Madhouse (2/10)
My Preferred Genres Of The Decade
1st Place: Fantasy (5/10)
2nd Place: Action/Adventure/Shonen/Drama (4/10)
3rd Place: Comedy/Romance/Seinen/Super Power/Sci-fi (3/10)
Whoa, I hadn’t expected my most preferred studios to be A-1 Pictures, though I can totally see why. Meanwhile I’ve always been a sucker for fantasy, so my most preferred genre was to be expected. Okay cool.
That does it! My final post of 2019, in memory of the past decade. Looking ahead, I’m excited to be continuing my writing the whole of 2020, and of course even more excited for new anime! I mean did you even see the list of upcoming anime in 2020? I just can’t wait! Speaking of upcoming anime, I am totally due for a Winter 2020 anime post. Looks like it’s back to writing for me.
I’ve already seen a bunch of people post their top anime of the decade, but to those who’ve yet to make their own list, I urge you to do so! It’s a lot of fun, and it would be cool to see how different people have different favourites! I know this isn’t a tag post or award post and all but, I nominate everyone! Thanks 2019, you’ve been good. Tiger out!
Made in Abyss is a great choice for 2017’s Best 🙂
I’m totally not a huge fangirl for that series or anything.

Hahahaha I know right! I purposely avoided the manga because of how well the animation was in the first series, so I’m super excited for the movie! I’m totally not a huge fanboy for that series or anything.

Oh, same here! I avoid manga depending on how greatly animated a show looks. you can probably guess how I hold up with those spectacular KyoAni shows…not good at all…

I loved the One Punch Man anime as well. Mob Psycho 100 was also a fantastic anime!

I am a fan of the 2012 to 2015 shows you listed. Nice to see Lost in Space get a mention too. One of the better anime I watched this year.

I just had to include Kanata no Astra. I admit Vinland Saga, Promised Neverland, Dr Stone and Kimetsu no Yaiba were the more popular favourites, but to me personally Kanata no Astra was a different kind of exciting, and wholesome piece of work.
